Before we hit the beach yesterday we dropped in to Fabrica Gallery in Ship Street, Brighton for the Craftaganza. Craft is a difficult word, encompassing everything from scented candles to works which nudge up against fine art practices so you never know quite what you are going to get. We have been following the Craftagaza blog however and so we had plenty of hints that this was going to be a showcase of high quality and diverse work and we weren’t dissapointed. We got there just as the doors opened so it looks pretty empty in my photograph but by the time we left there were lots of folk oohing and ahhing over some beautiful work.
It was an excellent event, clearly well organised and it would be so wrong to pick one maker that particularly caught our eye…………….but hey we are going to do just that. Vienna Horses had the most exquisite brooches, hairslide and rings. There is nothing in the Vienna Horses Etsy shop at the moment but lots of sold work in the archive so do have a look here.
