Say Hello to Auntie Maureen

Dashing through London to our open studio event this Saturday we came across these fine folk. They were taking part in The Tweed Run a ‘metropolitan cycle ride with a bit of style’. We have made so much work recently that celebrates the vintage seaside experience of the early 1950’s through to the 60’s and these folk look they might own one of our felt dogs that are sitting by the prom or on the pier.TweedRunTheBigForestBlog1

The nice lady on the left gave me her card; apparently she is Auntie Maureen from the Wooden Bike Company. It’s the clogs that set the whole outfit off and she cheered us up no end.

There were throngs of vintage folk (if that is the best way of describing it) in the square of the London Guildhall and a beautiful Morris 1000 too. Oh joy.TweedRunTheBigForestBlog2

We waved goodbye to Auntie Maureen and dashed off to Craft Central and met lots of nice folk and sold work to people who oohed and aahed and told us we were talented. What a lovely way to start the day.
