Brighton – artists open houses for Christmas

thebigforest-blog-brighton-beards-2-copyIf you are in Brighton over the next two weekends then you are in for a pre-Christmas treat. Artists’ studios and houses are open throughout the city filled with quirky and creative gifts. Our studio is number 40 on the trail, TheBigForest Emporium featuring our own work and mixed media paintings and prints by Clare Letton and contemporary glass constructions and decorations by Fiona Edwards. We are also showing wonderful carved mushrooms by Artist Woodsman Daimien Judd.

The illustration is from our I Love Brighton Beards card – you cut out the man and style him in four different beards! We also have our silly felt decorations we ship all over the world and some special Christmas felt dogs and dog brooches for sale too.

We have just finished the first weekend and its amazingly hard work (we construct an Edwardian shop to sell our wares!) but great fun too.

One half of TheBigForest is off on his travels tomorrow and up at 5am. Even I can’t make that fun in the breathless world of blogs, where everything is super-wonderful and life is a Hallmark card.  So think of me, dear reader, when you roll over in your warm bed and I’m walking to the station through dark streets with the howling wind in my (Brighton) beard.
